reimagine red venture's hq campus as an amusement park for employees' friends and families
Friends and Family day has become a yearly recurring event for RV employees. On Friends and Family Day, we transform RV's corporate headquarters campus into an amusement park featuring carnival rides, games, a petting zoo, arcade games, and more.
One of the goals of the event is to recreate a space we typically use for corporate work into a completely different environment.
The overall branding for Friends and Family Day (formerly Night) is simple. Friends and Fam brings carnival rides and games to campus, and employees are encouraged to invite their friends and spouses/children. An admit-one style ticket was the most obvious choice for the logo glyph. The shape also works great as an image frame, and is easily recognizable even without text. This simple versatile branding makes it much easier to change the theme year after year.
The map of the outdoor activities was originally inspired by vintage amusement park maps, where scale and placement are not exact. Zones are designated by oversized illustrations of some of their rides / attractions. Company easter eggs have been hidden throughout, such as the little dumpster full of bowling balls and pins.
For the 2025 Friends and Fam, I wanted to reinvent the campus activity map. This time, a teammate and I thought it would be fun to give the event a Myrtle Beach vibe so I went for it.. I reimagined the map of the campus so that the surrounding area was a large ocean, and the campus was on it's own little island. Where the original map was more accurately surrounded by trees, this version's fictional setting reinforces the new beach theme.
Each Friends and Fam event also has an indoor activity map.
Each of the indoor activity maps are themed by the main indoor activity for that year's FnF. In 2024, we transformed our conference arena into a laser tag course, with obstacles and music. The 2024 indoor space became the "Laser Labyrinth."
In 2025, the main indoor activity was the Bumper Cart derby in the arena. Playing on the Myrtle Beach campy theme, I went for a Medieval Times vibe.
For FNF 2024, each of the activity zones had their own unique signage, to make the overall campus feel more expansive. In 2025, I opted to just focus on the signage for each individual vendor / activity inside the "Cart Castle"
These zones were all printed on 24x30" foam core signs placed on easels around campus.
To promote the 2025 Friends and Family event, I created a postcard using the beach from the event map, and used images from the previous year's event to create a vintage beach postcard look.
2025's event was a part of our larger June event month. We used Digital Posters to promote each of the ongoing events at the entrance of the office.
